Building Maintenance Worker Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable Building Maintenance Person to join our team. We have 2 buildings located in Winslow, ME. In this role, your main task is to perform maintenance around the property, ensuring our buildings remain safe and functional. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems. The ideal candidate will have general knowledge in carpentry, electrical, flooring, roofing, heating, sheetrock repair, landscaping and snow removal.
Building Maintenance Worker Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and routine building and grounds inspections to identify possible issues
· Replace / repair fixtures and hardware
· Perform minor repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, or painting
· Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing batteries in remote controls, or repairing small leaks in drains or toilets
· Assist with landscape maintenance and intensive cleaning tasks
· Respond to maintenance requests in a timely fashion
· Install equipment and appliances (e.g., stoves, refrigerators)
· Keep maintenance log and write shift report
· Report any issues to the Facilities Manager
· Follow written and verbal instruction from the Facilities Manager or tenants
· Remove snow from sidewalks using snow blowers, snow shovels and snow melting chemicals.
· Maintaining inventory of supplies and ordering supplies needed for projects
· Conducting inspections to ensure that standards are met by contractors or subcontractors
· Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations
· Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
· Collaborate with maintenance workers, facility manager and contractors
Building Maintenance Worker Requirements and Qualifications
· Proven experience in general construction or facilities maintenance
· Specialized experience with plumbing, electricity, or HVAC maintenance (a plus)
· Mechanical skills (experience using hand and electrical tools)
· Familiarity with common cleaning products and equipment
· Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting items that are 50-100 lbs.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
· Reliable vehicle is required
· Must have tools
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
