Battery Analytical Chemistry Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated Battery Analytical Chemistry Engineer to develop and implement advanced analytical methodologies for next-generation lithium/sodium-ion battery materials. This role focuses on wet chemistry analysis, method development, and supporting scale-up from R&D to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and validate analytical methods for battery materials and enable transfer from R&D to manufacturing environments
• Perform chemical analysis using wet chemistry and benchtop analytical techniques to investigate battery mechanisms and performance
• Serve as a subject matter expert in analytical testing for lithium/sodium-ion battery systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot key analytical instruments (SEM, ICP, IC, KF, pH titration, GC, etc.) and coordinate with vendors
• Design and implement chemical control strategies for process monitoring and quality assurance
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D engineers on novel battery chemistries
• Support lab operations across both analytical chemistry and battery development environments
• Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining gloveboxes (dryboxes) and key analytical instruments, with the ability to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs as needed
• Support general lab operations and activities to ensure smooth and efficient analytical and battery testing
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field (e.g., Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science) with 5 years of experience; or a master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD with 0 years of experience; or equivalent experience and education
• Strong experience in material characterization and wet chemistry techniques
• Proficiency in DOE and statistical data analysis
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (ICP, IC, KF, titration, etc.)

• Experience in analytical lab management or method development in the battery/energy storage field
• Strong communication and documentation skills
