Gothenburg Eyecare & Optical is a dedicated optical and eye clinic located in a friendly town in Nebraska. We love our patients! From an emergency eye injury, to a child's first pair of glasses, to long-term glaucoma care - our goal is to provide comfort and treatments, to do it well, and keep it close to home. Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients to our clinic with a smile and a postive, caring attitude.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using EMR systems.
- Be familiar with common local insurances and how to apply them to services and products.
- Occassionally answer phones, set appointments.
- Communicate with and learn about our patients and their eyecare needs.
- Learn our eyecare products and services to meet those patients' needs.
- Educate patients on eyewear options and proper eye care practices.
- Properly acquire measurements for, accurately order, and carefully dispense glasses and contact lenses to our patients.
- Obtain precise imaging with medical eye equipment.
- Import images from equipment into the EHR.
- Maintain patient flow in the clinic.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
- Experience with EMR systems is preferred.
- Previous optical experience and knowledge of medical terms is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to educate patients effectively about their eye health.
- Experience in pediatrics or senior care is a plus.
