Duties
- Mow lawns and trim grass using hand tools and power equipment to maintain neat and healthy turf.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, mulching, edging, and pruning shrubs and trees.
- Operate landscaping machinery including excavators, skid steers, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct tree care activities like trimming, pruning, and basic tree removal to promote healthy growth.
- Install or repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns and gardens.
- Assist with hardscape projects such as installing pavers, retaining walls, or walkways.
- Maintain cleanliness of work sites by removing debris, leaves, and snow when necessary for safety and aesthetics.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
- Experience with lawn care practices including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aeration.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and horticulture principles.
- Ability to operate construction machinery such as excavators or skid steers is a plus.
- Strong understanding of gardening practices, tree care including trimming and pruning techniques.
- Willingness to learn about irrigation systems and hardscape installation processes.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy objects safely.
