Residential Service Electrician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices, as well as the ability to read blueprints and work effectively on construction sites.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential & commercial buildings.
• Installs conduits to house electrical wires and cables.
• Ensures conduit and circuitry installation complies with electrical codes.
• Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and can complete wiring terminations.
• Able to do electrical service work and work long side utility companies.
• Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
• Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
• Able to troubleshoot faulty circuitry and make repairs in a timely manner.
• Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
• Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned \ open to continued growth and learning.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Punctual and arrives to jobs on time.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understands NEC and can apply requirements in home systems.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman license or greater required.
• 3 – 5 years residential electrical experience.

Work Environment:

• Work can take place inside and outside in various temperatures and weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in weather conditions and temperatures consistent with both outside and inside

(hot, cold, wet, dry, quiet, noisy, windy).

• Must be comfortable working in different environments.
• Ability to travel to various residential project sites.
• Must be willing to work late a few days during the week, if needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to navigate an attic space in a safe manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
