Job Summary
The Solar O&M Technician will install and maintain the solar panels in a variety of locations. The Solar Technician’s primary responsibility is to support Operations and Maintenance activities by quickly responding to solar system performance maintenance, ensuing optimally performing solar systems and providing excellent customer service to our customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Train and mentor entry level solar O&M Technicians

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support to O&M Activities, including schedule coordination and oversight of other O&M Technician staff.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to existing projects in construction, along with commissioning support.
  • Provide support in the estimating/sales/business development of O&M Services as required
  • Document and report daily tasks using SiteCapture software tool. Manage Procore through work email account
  • Structurally mount racking, solar panels, and electrical equipment.
  • Use of power tools, ladders, and other equipment during installation site workprocess.
  • Applies advanced electrical expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate solar and energy storage systems for maintenance, warranty, and design purposes; identifies issues and performs precise repairs on electrical components and system infrastructure.Utilizes knowledge, skills and electrical testing equipment to evaluate systems accurately for maintenance, warranty repairs, design and other purposes; diagnoses and repairs solar and storage systems and electrical components.
  • Completes quality assurance inspections, documents corrective actions and ensures completion of corrective actions within defined timelines.
  • Identifies solutions to resolve technical design problems, including electrical systems used during constructioncollaborates Collaborates closely with manufacturers and engineering team to identify solutions and resolve technical design problems, including electrical systems used during construction.
  • Develops and uses knowledge of all roof types and the appropriate flashings and mounts to use on those roofs.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily perform duties without field supervision.
  • Be available for afterhoursafter-hours emergency response when required.
  • This position may require travel work from time to time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Valid state driver’s license
  • US Citizen or hold legal immigration status
  • Speak English fluently

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or GED)
  • 3 years’ electrical experience
  • 2 years’ experience in the solar electric industry.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • OSHA 30 certified
  • NABCEP PV Associate preferred
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification desirable, but not required

Work Environment:

  • Work can take place inside and outsideindoors and outdoors, in various temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid and everything in between. Must be comfortable working in different environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and comfortable with heights
  • Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time.
  • Work postures include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing and handling objects above/below the shoulders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
