Company Description The Gospel Music Association (GMA) advances the Christian and Gospel music industry through education, advocacy, research, and preservation. Through the GMA Foundation and Gospel Music Hall of Fame, GMA preserves the contributions of trailblazers in Gospel music. The GMA Dove Awards highlight and support leading Christian and Gospel music professionals today. GMA’s training events develop up-and-coming artists, songwriters, and music business professionals for the industry's future.


Role Description: The Event Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashville, TN, responsible for planning and executing association events, including flagship programs such as the GMA Dove Awards. This role oversees event logistics from concept to completion, including timeline development, venue coordination, vendor management, and on-site operations. The Event Manager collaborates with internal teams and external partners to align event programming with organizational goals, member needs, and sponsor expectations. Daily responsibilities include managing budgets, tracking project milestones, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring a high-quality attendee experience. The role also involves developing event communication plans, maintaining detailed documentation, and continuously improving processes based on feedback and post-event evaluations.


Qualifications

  • Must have Experience in event planning and production, including timelines, logistics, and on-site coordination for small and large-scale events.
  • Skills in vendor and venue management, contract negotiation, and relationship building with sponsors, partners, and service providers.
  • Strong project management abilities, including budgeting, scheduling, task prioritization, and use of project management tools or software.
  • Competence in event communications, including collaborating on promotional campaigns, attendee outreach, and event messaging.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic event environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working within music, entertainment, nonprofit, or faith-based organizations is beneficial
  • Ability to work on-site in Nashville, TN, with flexibility for evening and weekend hours during key events.
