Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe handling during transfers and heavy lifting tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Document patient observations, care activities, and updates accurately in compliance with healthcare standards
Experience
- French Speaking Candidates
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, patient monitoring techniques, and vital signs measurement is essential
- Experience with patient observation, assisting with ADLs, social work practices related to caregiving, and long-term care settings will strengthen your application
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts confidently and safely
