The Medical-Surgical (3N) inpatient unit is located on the 3rd floor of Goshen Hospital. This is a 26 bed medical surgical unit with a patient population primarily with medical and post-surgical procedure diagnosis. This unit houses some inpatient hospice, low acuity pediatrics, acute and chronic conditions that meet medical admission criteria. Our target RN to Patient ratio for our medical-surgical units is 1:4.

Excellent communication skills and teamwork are essential as the nurse collaborates with a broad spectrum of providers, including family practice, hospitalist, cardiologist, oncologist, and ancillary units to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
BSN required
Current Indiana RN licensure
Current American Heart Association BLS provider
Colleagues hired with an associate degree must enter a BSN program within 12 months of hire and earn their BSN from a NLN or CCNE accredited program within 5 years of beginning their BSN degree.
Effective February 2021, Colleagues hired with an associate degree and 10 or more years of nursing experience may be exempt from entering into a BSN program.
