What are the responsibilities and job description for the Third Shift General Helper position at Gorton's?
What you’ll do:
This job requires, but is not limited to the following duties:
- Operating a forklift while following all safety regulations
- Following all factory GMPs to ensure compliance to all internal and external standards
- General cleaning and housekeeping of production areas to ensure safety of employees and safety, legality and quality of product. This includes:
- General sweeping and vacuuming of production areas to remove product buildup on the floors, equipment and surrounding areas.
- Removal of trash, waste and recycle before shift end and as needed throughout shift or when instructed by the supervisor or management.
- Any specific cleaning tasks as requested by the supervisor or management
- Staging materials as needed throughout the shift.
- This also includes staging all materials for the next shift.
- Relieving other positions during breaks, lunches or in times of need per supervisor or management request.
- Ensuring the washroom is clean, organized and free from buildup throughout shift and before end of shift. This includes:
- Chemical cabinet locked and secured
- Floors cleaned, sinks free from tools and debris
- All tools hung properly
What You’ll Need:
- Manually lifting 50-70lb bags, boxes or tubs and moving pallets as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior work experience in a processing facility or in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with a positive attitude
- Ability to work overtime
