Duties
- Assist with interpreting and implementing construction plans and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying, and positioning heavy materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate power tools and construction equipment, maintaining them in good working order through routine repairs and inspections.
- Follow all workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards, respiratory protection protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct erosion control measures to protect the environment and maintain site stability during construction activities.
- Support the installation of erosion barriers, drainage systems, and other structural components according to blueprints.
- Engage in climbing, scaffolding, or working at heights safely while adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with site cleanup, material handling, and organization to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Contribute to the implementation of heavy lifting procedures and mechanical knowledge to facilitate large-scale construction tasks.
- Support equipment repair efforts to ensure all tools and machinery are operational for ongoing work activities.
Experience
- Proven industrial or commercial construction experience demonstrating familiarity with construction sites and safety practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of erosion control techniques and environmental protection measures on active sites.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, manual handling, climbing, and working at heights.
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards, workplace safety protocols, and respiratory protection requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout shifts.
- Prior experience interpreting technical drawings and implementing construction plans effectively is highly desirable.
