Location: Gorilla Circuits Inc. San Jose CA 95112
Scope: The Waste Treatment Operator is responsible for making sure that hazardous wastes are processed according to with Gorilla Circuits standards as permitted by the city, state, and or federal agency.
Job Description and Requirement:
- Treat wastewater coming from various processes sources by following set procedures
- Able to test and maintain pH of wastewater in accordance to permits
- Order, receive, handle and store chemicals in their respective containments
- Use of forklift to unload hazardous material and load hazardous waste
- Triple rinse chemical drums and any contaminated containers before moving to storage
- Maintain cleanliness of the chemical storage area and waste treatment floor at all time
- Properly segregate sludge, solid, and liquid hazardous waste into the designated containment, label, and prepare for shipment
- Track, record, and notify any and all abnormalities of the treated water in our system
- Immediately report any potential problems that may affect the process, cause unnecessary downtime, etc.
- Forklift use is required to unload hazardous material and load hazardous
- Keep accurate records of daily activities.
- Strictly follow safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Operate the facility wastewater pretreatment system.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks as required to assure proper working conditions of the waste treatment system and the manufacturing process tanks.
- Interface and assist City, State, and Federal Inspectors when on site.
- Assist maintenance staff and operators with preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator as needed
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the day
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma at a minimum
- HAZWOPER and forklift trained preferred
- Minimum 1-year experience handling hazardous materials preferred
- Previous experience and knowledge of chemicals is a plus
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
