We are seeking a Finance Director to oversee the firm’s financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership. This role will work closely with the firm’s Management and Finance Committees to ensure financial stability, transparency, and long-term success. The firm has a collegial work environment with long-term growth opportunities.

Finance Director Job Responsibilities:

The Finance Director will have responsibility for all aspects of the firm’s financial management, including:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for a mid-sized law firm
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to members and firm leadership
  • Oversee firm-wide budgeting and member and associate attorney compensation support
  • Manage billing, collections, and revenue reporting
  • Oversee trust accounting, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage and develop the finance and accounting team
  • Support data integrity and reporting by working closely with administrative teams using iManage document management system and SurePoint accounting system
  • Oversee and manage the firm’s local, outside IT provider
  • Improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems as the firm grows
  • Serve as administrator of the firm retirement plan
  • Participate in weekly Management Committee meetings

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis within a professional services environment
  • Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills
  • Working knowledge of law firm billing, collections, and trust accounting practices preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to partners and non-financial stakeholders
  • Proven leadership experience managing finance or accounting staff
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (required)
  • CPA and/or MBA designation valued
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience
  • Prior experience in a law firm or mid-sized professional services firm preferred

Annual Salary Range

· $125,000 - $160,000 plus discretionary performance bonus

  • Location: New Orleans, LA (On-site)

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
