We are seeking a Finance Director to oversee the firm’s financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership. This role will work closely with the firm’s Management and Finance Committees to ensure financial stability, transparency, and long-term success. Finance Director Job Responsibilities:
The Finance Director will have responsibility for all aspects of the firm’s financial management, including:
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for a mid-sized law firm
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to members and firm leadership
- Oversee firm-wide budgeting and member and associate attorney compensation support
- Manage billing, collections, and revenue reporting
- Oversee trust accounting, audits, and regulatory compliance
- Manage and develop the finance and accounting team
- Support data integrity and reporting by working closely with administrative teams using iManage document management system and SurePoint accounting system
- Oversee and manage the firm’s local, outside IT provider
- Improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems as the firm grows
- Serve as administrator of the firm retirement plan
- Participate in weekly Management Committee meetings
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis within a professional services environment
- Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills
- Working knowledge of law firm billing, collections, and trust accounting practices preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to partners and non-financial stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience managing finance or accounting staff
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (required)
- CPA and/or MBA designation valued
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience
- Prior experience in a law firm or mid-sized professional services firm preferred

Annual Salary Range
· $125,000 - $160,000 plus discretionary performance bonus
