Job Description
These employees have fully mastered all aspects of their position. They work independently with little to no oversight.
To transition into this level, employees must consistently demonstrate intermediate proficiency of 75% of additional skills associated with the this level, as well as all required skills. They must meet the quality and productivity standards set by the department for a minimum of 6 months. Additionally, an employee must be A Class Above in Behaviors, Results and Improvement on their most recent performance review. The employee cannot have a written warning or higher in the last 6 months.
The Material Handler is responsible for maneuvering material throughout the factory.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Responsible for moving materials and components around the factory using carts, pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, and overhead cranes
- Maintains a steady flow of parts through workstations
- Coordinates material flow to ensure the packing and shipping schedule
- Assist with the loading and unloading of incoming and outbound trucks
- Minor data entry tasks
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-production area with minimal supervision
- All other duties as requested by management
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other computer programs
- Ability to participate in minor data entry
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to read a blueprint
- Ability to use hand tools requiring dexterity
- Climb portable ladders
- Must be able to communicate effectively with factory supervision
ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel, or crouch (5%), as required.
- Able to climb a portable ladder
- Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout the shift.
- Able to wear hearing protectors (earplugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels.
