Senior software engineer

As a senior software engineer on the warehousing team, your primary responsibility will be to build services and solutions to fulfill the needs of the warehouse operations which includes inbound and outbound.

The right candidate will have the technical aptitude to drive good technology choices through collaboration with the product, engineering and stakeholders across the company.

You will partner with the engineering leadership to strategize the technical evolution of the projects to meet the future growth of the business.

Success in this role will be measured by the team’s effective delivery of services, making the right design tradeoffs, mentoring other engineers on the team, and rolling up your sleeves to write code following industry practices.

You raise the bar of the engineering standards within the team and more broadly.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or related field).
• 6 Years of production experience.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and databases (ex : SQL, PostgresDB).
• Ability to write scalable and extensible systems.
• Experience building systems and services that spans multiple teams.
• Participate in cross-functional projects in an agile environment.
• Build, deploy, and maintain your own code.
• Implement and Monitor analytics to ensure the correctness of the business process.
• Support services in production to maintain reliability and correctness.
• Participate in team on-call rotations when necessary.
• Participate in code reviews and giving system design feedback.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Below are some of the technologies we use on the team. These are not required for you to have experience with but be open to quickly learn the technologies and start contributing to the team.
• Experience using goLang, Java in a production setting and open to learning other languages quickly as needed.
• Experience building microservices in a distributed environment.
• Experience with message-based / event-driven architecture for async processing.
• Experience with a variety of web services (Rest, graphQL).
• Public cloud experience in a production setting (Azure preferred).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog is desired.

Compensation :

Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates.

A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

These ranges may be modified in the future. For additional information on this role’s compensation package, please reach out to the designated recruiter for this role.

• Hybrid - Salary Range (varies based on a cost of labor index for geographic area within the United States) :
• $165,000 - $215,000

Location :

• Candidates will be given priority in Philadelphia and Miami markets (hybrid Tues-Thurs onsite).
• Also open to candidates working remotely in NYC or San Francisco.
