What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern (Leadership, Team & Talent Development) position at Goose Creek Consulting?
Company Description
Goose Creek Consulting is a boutique leadership, team, talent ans organizational devrlppment firm. Based in Fairfax County, Virginia, we provide executive coaching, assessment analysis and feedback, leadership, talent, team and orgranizational development programs and consulting.
Role Description
This full-time hybrid role as an Intern in Leadership, Team and Talent Development is based in Centreville, VA, with three days on site and two days remote each week.. The primary responsibilities of this 12-week internship includes supporting leadership and team development initiatives, assisting with program design, and conducting research on best practices in talent development. The candidate will also collaborate with team members to plan and execute projects, contribute to client engagement strategies, prepare materials and reports and support other business efforts as needed.
What You'll Do
This is not a shadow-and-observe internship. Over ten weeks, you will work on real program development — designing and refining leadership and team development experiences for the kinds of clients Goose Creek actually serves. You will contribute to consulting recommendations, learning how to diagnose organizational challenges and structure evidence-based advice. You will move through the full arc of facilitation: planning a session, observing live delivery, and developing the follow-up work that makes learning stick. And you will complete an independent project — something you identify, develop, and present to the team — that reflects your own thinking about a real problem in leadership or organizational development.
Benefits
In addition to hands-on consulting experience, Goose Creek will sponsor your attendance at the official Hogan assessor certification program (July 14–17) — a professional credential that most OD practitioners spend years working toward. Upon completion, you will be a credentialed Hogan assessor, qualified to administer and debrief the HPI, HDS, and MVPI, the same assessment toolkit Goose Creek deploys with executive clients across government, nonprofit, and private sector organizations. You will leave the summer with a credential, a portfolio of work you produced, and a professional network in the leadership development field.
