Job Summary:
As an Automotive Mechanic Technician, you'll join our team at the Goodyear Commercial Tire & Service Center Truck Care, servicing our North and South Region Centers. Your role encompasses every facet of automotive tire and mechanical services, including the repair of both customer and company vehicles. Key Responsibilities:
- Execute line technician services, conduct routine inspections/maintenance, and perform system diagnostics with comprehensive automotive troubleshooting and testing.
- Carry out service tasks such as brake repairs, fluid replacements/flushes, preventive maintenance, wheel alignments, and tire fitting.
- Additional services include attending to brake and hydraulic systems, exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, electrical components, air conditioning, computer systems, power-train management systems, and delivering service recommendations through road tests for diagnosis.
- Handle, clean, and ensure the upkeep of service tools including various hand, hydraulic and automatic tools, and all diagnostics.
- Operate various equipment, including manual and automatic jacks, hydraulic lifts, air compressors, air tools, tire changers, and tire balancers.
- Perform diverse manual tasks for extended periods, which may involve both light and heavy lifting, such as handling consumer tires and wheels, and require standing, bending, and squatting.
- Skillfully dismount, mount, and balance a range of automotive and light truck tires.
- Deliver superior guest service, encompassing clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles, and mentor junior automotive technicians.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, fluid flushes, and preventive maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE Certification.
- Previous experience with exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, and power-train management systems.
- Prior experience in vehicle diagnosis and road tests.
