What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech position at GoodWork Staffing?
GoodWork Staffing is looking for a Maintenance Technician - This is a direct hire - Not temp to perm
Full-Time, Monday – Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM (with the ability to be flexible if needed. Ability to be on call and work some weekends)
Pay will be between $27 - $32 per hour (depending on experience and education)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform preventive and routine maintenance on production machinery and equipment to ensure reliable operation.
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation system issues.
3. Repair or replace defective components, including motors, belts, gears, bearings, sensors, and other mechanical or electrical parts.
4. Assist with the installation, setup, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
5. Support equipment programming, configuration, and system testing as needed.
6. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and uptime.
7. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, system documentation, and repair records.
8. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to quickly resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
9. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
10. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability.
11. Operate hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
12. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of 6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food production, or industrial environment.
2. Associate degree in Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Systems Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of technical certifications, vocational training, and hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial control systems.
4. Experience with industrial automation systems, PLCs, or controls is preferred.
5. Experience working with three-phase electrical systems is preferred.
6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
7. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
8. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
9. Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
10. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
11. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
12. Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or shift coverage as needed.
