Operations Manager Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the transportation industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in developing leadership talent.
• Minimum 5 years of P&L responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to oversee large teams
• Strong customer communication skills and transportation operations background.

Operations Manager Preferred Background & Skills

• Familiarity with systems such as AS400, Omnitracs, TMW, and Geotab.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.

Operations Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor driver logs and ensure DOT compliance while enforcing company policies.
• Oversee payroll accuracy and manage hiring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Dispatch and schedule drivers using Qualcomm/Omnitracs or similar tools.
• Track driver utilization, routes, hours, and equipment while coaching drivers on customer service and safety.
• Serve as the main point of contact for customers, responding rapidly to inquiries and managing service concerns.
• Validate daily load plans and coordinate maintenance and PM schedules.
