Plant Engineer Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in engineering or a related field.
• 2 years of supervisory experience in maintenance or plant services.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of reducing costs through process efficiencies.

Plant Engineer Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience in the wood products industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with steam utility systems and woodworking machinery.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Plant Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, fostering collaboration and safety.
• Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and compliance.
• Manage the plant budget and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Initiate and promote lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency.
