Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:30am - 5:30pm; Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm

NOW HIRING! Goodwill TalentBridge is partnering with a leading debt collection and litigation firm to recruit a full-time Attorney. We’re looking for a seasoned professional with 5 years of civil litigation experience, ideally with a background in creditor rights and collections, and a strong desire to advance toward partnership within 3–5 years.
This position is 100% on-site in a collaborative, team-oriented environment where attorneys, paralegals, and support staff work closely together. The role involves regular court appearances and managing a diverse range of civil litigation matters aligned with creditor-side practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Civil Litigation & Creditor Rights: Draft, file, and argue motions; manage discovery; conduct depositions; prepare for and attend hearings and trials in state courts.
- Briefs & Case Law Development: Research complex legal issues; draft persuasive briefs, memoranda, and pleadings; cite and develop supportive case law; prepare affidavits and proposed orders.
- Collections & Enforcement: Handle collection matters, including judgment enforcement, post-judgment remedies, and creditor-side procedural strategies.
- Client Advisory & Communication: Advise clients on civil practice strategies aligned with creditor rights; maintain clear, timely communication and exceptional professionalism.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with collection paralegals, support staff, and attorneys in a coordinated, open-setting workflow; contribute to process improvements and mentorship.
- Court Appearances: Represent clients in routine and contested matters; manage calendars and litigation timelines to ensure efficient case progression.
Note: Our client’s civil practice emphasizes creditor-side litigation and enforcement, the opposite of a bankruptcy-focused practice—while following the same core civil procedures (pleadings, motions, discovery, trial).

Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice in Wisconsin, and in good standing – Illinois is a plus!
- 5 years of civil litigation experience; creditor rights/collections background strongly preferred.
- Consumer rights exposure is helpful; familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations (e.g., FDCPA compliance) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to draft high-quality briefs and develop case law narratives.
- Experience preparing memoranda and conducting depositions; strong courtroom presence.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational habits.
