What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Helper - South San Francisco position at Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay?
To assist the Truck Driver in picking up donated goods and transporting merchandise as required. Must have strong adherence to all safety policies and wearing all required personal protective equipment at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safeguards donated goods to prevent damage during shipment.
Reports any incidents of theft or misappropriation or unauthorized possession of company property.
Acts courteously with donors and reports any complaints to the driver.
Assists the Truck Driver by providing communication of routes; properly uses equipment to load and unload trucks; spots for driver when truck is backing up, and other duties as assigned.
Assists with the unloading of merchandise, minimizing damage to donated materials.
May be required to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.
Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment is used. Immediately takes action and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards.
Informs leader of any potentially hazardous and dangerous materials found while processing merchandise for storage and/or disposal.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
High School education or equivalent
Ability to be trained and take direction
Ability to speak and read English proficiently
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
Must be able to lift 35 to 50 lbs consistently
