Job Summary

The Store Manager, acting within the scope of Goodwill Northern New England’s Citizenship Behaviors, drives operational excellence through a relentless commitment to people development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Set performance expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and promote staff development.
- Customer Service: Ensure customers receive excellent service by setting and maintaining high customer interactions, merchandising, and store cleanliness standards.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including pricing, stocking, and rotation of merchandise to maximize sales and minimize waste.
- Sales Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, including merchandising displays, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Financial Management: Manage store budgets and financial performance, monitoring expenses and revenue to achieve budget targets.
- Quality Control: Maintain merchandise quality standards and ensure all items meet Goodwill's quality guidelines.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Goodwill policies, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Community Engagement: Represent Goodwill in the local community, building positive relationships with customers, donors, and community partners.
- Comfort with technology and reporting databases Proficient in retail management systems including POS, inventory tracking, and workforce scheduling tools.
- Accountable for achieving KPI including revenue, expense, inventory shrinkage
- Proven success growing operations for business area generating 2 million dollars
- Process improvement experience to maximize efficiencies and customer experience
- Ensure high standards of customer service, addressing complaints and resolving issues effectively.
- Complex operations with multiple workstreams and priorities
- Proven experience coaching and developing others
- Comfort leading a diverse employee population to support a workplace of high trust and engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and increase profitability
- Ability to analyze and leverage data and metrics to drive business decisions
- Familiarity with retail point-of-sale systems and inventory tracking software. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
- 3 years of leadership experience in complex business operation
- Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record and insurance meeting agency standards required
- Associate’s degree strongly preferred
- Oversight 60 of employees including scheduling & payroll management
- Prior multi-unit retail experience strongly preferred but not required
- Experience working with diverse and inclusive teams.
