Job Title:  Opportunity Accelerator Veteran Job Placement Specialist 

Location:  Goodwill North Central Texas  --- 4304 Airport Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas

Salary:  Based on Experience 

Work Hours: Full Time, Exempt. Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am start time

General Job Duties: Client Support Activities: Consistently meet all goals and performance metrics outlined in your SMART goals plan. Assess participant training needs and develop tailored employment plans to ensure secure employment. Provide and facilitate career workshops, training on employment preparation, online job search techniques, and updating resumes. Ensure case notes and required documentation is uploaded accurately, timely, and in compliance for all client and employer interactions in CaseWorthy within 24 hours of contact and verification to include businesses' contacts, job orders, placement information, and employment verifications. Deliver hands-on training to clients individually and in group settings to strengthen their job readiness skills, including interviewing techniques, effective job search strategies, independent application completion, document uploads, writing and updating resumes. Refer participants to appropriate community resources to address employment barriers and additional needs. Collaborate with the team to coordinate career workshops, hiring events, and job fairs, ensuring a steady flow of program placements. Initiate participant engagement within 24 hours of a visit to the JRC through scheduled virtual or in-person appointments, providing ongoing support focused on achieving monthly job placement goals and ensuring retention outcomes are met. Conduct career workshops and provide job placement services at assigned JRCs and outreach sites. Responsible for developing business partnerships and securing job orders monthly to generate job leads and job opportunities within our service area.

Administrative Activities: Maintain knowledge of current developments, best practices, technologies, labor market information, and adult learning techniques to ensure that training materials are current. Complete the required professional development and/or continuing education training courses annually, attend and actively participate in all staff meetings, required and assigned training/credentialing sessions and case conferences. Submit weekly and monthly reports assigned within the stated timeframe and complete assignments/projects within the given timeframe. Ensure all compliance requirements, including surveys, reports, and CAPs, are achieved within the given timeline. Report to work as scheduled and be present at the workstation at the designated time. Enter and submit work hours/salary bi-monthly through the time management system (UltiPro/UKG). Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, marketing, communications, social work, or related field. Strong communication skills, including public speaking and strong writing capabilities. Must have the ability to work effectively with other team members. Proficient in standard computer operating systems and relevant software. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint), Adobe PageMaker, and Adobe Photoshop is a plus. Dynamic, personable, and outgoing. Self-motivated.

Physical Requirements: Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive goals. May be in an office environment for approximately 50% of the time with the remaining time involves community engagement and client interactions. Requires regular use of office equipment and the ability to access file cabinets in the process of performing their job function. Must provide own transportation to off-site locations for meetings and events and be able to communicate effectively by phone, email and in person. Required to have communication capabilities, via cell phone and/or smartphone technology.

Legal Requirements: Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
