Retail Salvage Worker - Part Time, Hourly

Responsible for the salvage and recycling of donated goods and materials.
Job Functions
Operate bale machine and trash compactor
Recognize and follow proper material content
Know the mechanical operation of both machines
Understand and demonstrate safe operation
Salvage and recycling
Empty metal containers into metal roll off
Separate salvage shoes/purses/hats
Make proper use of available space and materials
Physical Requirements
Medium work, occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force and/or up to 50 pounds of lifting, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing and repetitive movement.
Other Requirements
Avaiilability to work after-hours for special projects
Availability to work weekends and some holidays
WORK CONDITIONS
Inside generally 100%, however, may include outside work on occasion.
Limited emotional effort. Work environment routine with periods of isolated high stress. Short deadlines requiring some overtime.
EDUCATION
GED/High school diploma preferred.
Experience
One (1) year experience in retail operations preferred.
