Position Summary:
Oversees the development, coordination, and execution of all training programs across workforce development and internal staff. Manages curriculum, LMS, and training calendar to ensure consistency, compliance, and effectiveness. The Training Manager works collaboratively with Program Managers, Workforce Development Specialists, and Training Support Specialists to ensure training content is consistently applied across all locations — but does not hold direct supervisory authority over these positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain curriculum across all program streams.
- Manage and administer Learning Management System (LMS).
- Design and maintain organizational training calendar.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual training sessions.
- Ensure consistency of training delivery across all locations, working collaboratively with Program Managers, Workforce Development Specialists, and Training Support Specialists.
- Support onboarding and staff development initiatives.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and outcomes.
- Update training materials based on best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs.
- Standardize training content across programs.
- Research certifications and credentialing opportunities.
- Serve as a content resource and training coach for WDS staff and Training Support Specialists, providing guidance on delivery methods and curriculum application.
- Ensure compliance with training requirements.
- Maintain training records and reporting.
- Continuously improve training program effectiveness.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted.
- Experience in training, instructional design, or workforce development.
- Experience with LMS platforms (Goodwill Academy or similar) preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Ability to learn, demonstrate, and train individuals with varying abilities on a wide range of topics.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and communicate with supervisor as needed.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain training curriculum across multiple program types.

Physical Requirements:
- Works in an environment with occasional high stress, with potentially short deadlines.
- Must be able to physically write, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods in performance of assigned duties.
- Routinely bends, stoops, pulls, pushes, reaches, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds in retail environment, or the ability to do so safely.
Travel:
Occasional travel required. May travel to other locations to assist with training activities. Some travel for meetings, conferences and/or trainings may be required.
