What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Baler - Western HQ - FT position at GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF MICHIANA INC?
Job Objective:
To provide support to warehouse operations by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment and by overseeing the safe and effective daily operation of the baling machine, along with performing additional assigned tasks as needed. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Unload cages and sort materials according to warehouse requirements.
- Move materials throughout the warehouse using pallet jacks or forklifts as needed.
- Perform basic material handling tasks as requested.
- Accurately prepare, sort, and process salvage materials for shipment.
- Operate the baling machine to compact materials according to established standards.
- Weigh completed bales and record weights on both the bale and production forms.
- Transport finished bales to designated storage areas, including sheets and blankets bales.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly warehouse environment.
- Keep the baling and storage areas neat and free of debris at all times.
- Stack boxes and materials safely throughout the warehouse.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout when applicable.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Education and Skills:
- Ability to accurately weigh, record, and handle materials.
- Ability to read and write clearly to complete forms, follow instructions, and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications:
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Flexible availability.
- Able to frequently bend, twist, reach above shoulder level, push and pull, crouch or stoop, kneel, repetitively use feet, and use head and neck in a twisting or static motion and to look up and/or down, and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
- Pallet jack and forklift certification required.
