SUMMARY
The Donation Assistant Manager works with minimal supervision to direct and coordinate all Donated Goods operations, including personnel management, Attended Donation Centers (ADCs), Unattended Donation Centers (UDCs), Home Donation Pickup Services, and all collection events—both local and off-island—along with data tracking and reporting. The Donation Assistant Manager supports the planning and achievement of operational goals and objectives by providing hands-on leadership and guidance to team members. In this role, the Donation Assistant Manager helps ensure smooth daily operations while promoting efficiency and continuous improvement across all donation programs. These responsibilities are carried out by the Donation Assistant Manager personally or through subordinate staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Lead and supervise Donation Department personnel, including staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action when necessary.
- Oversee daily operations of Attended Donation Centers (ADCs), Unattended Donation Centers (UDCs), and Home Donation Pickup Services, ensuring all sites are properly staffed, maintained, and operating safely.
- Manage data tracking and reporting, ensuring accurate monitoring of donation performance, profitability, and timely submission of required reports.
- Ensure safety and compliance by enforcing safety standards, providing proper protective equipment, and maintaining clean, organized, and branded donation environments.
- Coordinate logistics support with the Assistant Director of Logistics and Transportation Supervisor to schedule delivery, transport, and pickup of donated and redemption goods.
- Serve as a mission ambassador, providing excellent customer service, resolving complaints, and communicating Goodwill Hawaii’s mission and donation policies to the public.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
