What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Inventory Clerk position at Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.?
Position Summary: Our store inventory clerks are responsible for a variety of jobs, including sorting and pricing shoes and accessories, sorting clothing donations, tagging housewares and electronics, and helping to move priced clothes, housewares, shoes and accessories to the sales floor of the store. You'll need to enjoy learning lots of different jobs. This is a great entry-level role at a Goodwill store and is eligible for incentive pay based on the store's performance.
Position Duties:
- Sort donated clothing by quality, style, and gender.
- Sort and price shoes and accessories.
- Price donated housewares and electronics.
- Stock sales floor with processed clothing, housewares, electronics, shoes, and accessories.
- Remove items from the sales floor at the conclusion of their rotation cycle.
- Other duties, as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires standing and walking and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, and reaching with hands and arms. Requires frequent lifting and moving of light items, up to 10 pounds, and occasional lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds. May be required to stand for entire shift.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires energetic, team-oriented individual with a positive “can-do” attitude and an ability to understand, accept and work with people who have disabilities and/or other barriers to employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mix of donation, production, and retail environments. Usually fast-paced.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and values that reflect the organization’s mission and values. Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times. Must be 16 years of age or older. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, extended hours and holidays. Must pass a background check.
