Position summary: The Retail Operations Coordinator is responsible for support services and coordination of Retail Operations, including customer and donor service, production, safety, training, and meeting sales and production goals within budget. The Retail Operations Coordinator may be required to assume store management responsibilities when a vacancy occurs.
Essential functions:
· Provide assistance to the Director of Retail Operations in developing and monitoring retail division goals for Goodwill’s strategic plan; assist monitoring store operations, sales, payroll and production.
· Demonstrate and promote superior customer service; handle customer/donor concerns or requests
in a courteous, fair and timely manner.
· Assist retail management team as needed to ensure compliance with established safety protocols, material handling and processing practices.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive Inventory Management Plan to optimize inventory levels, storage, and organization.
· Assist Director of Health, Safety and Security in developing and implementing loss prevention measures to minimize theft, accidents and incidents; and to maximize profitability in the stores.
· Assist the Marketing Coordinator in coordinating annual and monthly marketing plans to increase donations, donor bases in the community and home pick-ups; and for store signage, advertising, community events, donation drives, and special projects.
· Represent Goodwill in the community at public meetings and media and serve as an advocate for people with disabilities in the four county area.
· Comply with all legal and other regulatory local, state and federal agency requirements.
· Adhere to all company personnel policies and procedures; assist all store personnel in understanding and following policies and procedures.
· Pursue professional career development through continuing education and training opportunities.
· Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times.
· Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
· Responsible for other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
· Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
· Knowledge of retail operations, sales, community and customers relations.
· Knowledge of computer technology, including cash register and POS systems, and computer programs (Word, Excel), social media and email; database knowledge, produce timely reports.
· Valid driver’s license with good driving record and proof of current auto insurance required every six months.
· Ability to utilize material handling equipment such as pallet jack, and stacker for gaylords and barrels.
· Independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities as well as excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
· Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
· Knowledge in shipping and receiving, warehouse organization, and inventory control preferred.
Education and experience:
· Associate’s degree in Business, Retail, Merchandising, Marketing or a related field preferred.
· 3 years retail management experience required.
· Experience operating a forklift; forklift certification required with training provided by Goodwill Industries.
