Warehouse Helper

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Helper assists with the transportation of used goods, new goods salvage, and trash. Assist with the storage of donations. The position also assists the Warehouse Manager with other duties as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist with the transportation of used goods, new goods salvage, and trash.
2. Assist with the storage of donations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Read and practice the policies and procedures of Goodwill Industries of El Paso.
2. Ensure that all team members comply and practice the policies and procedures of Goodwill Industries of El Paso.
3. Report for work as scheduled, using the provided time clock to accurately record time worked.
4. Acts as positive role model for other team members, trainees, and community service workers.
5. Provide pleasant and helpful customer service.
6. Ensure that all baling logs are properly utilized with correct bale number and weight.
7. Assist with the daily collection and transportation of salvage material, supplies and waste materials from stores and warehouse.
8. Must keep warehouse clean and hazard-free.
9. Duties may include processing products through the baler to shape, form, and compress materials.
10. Must be able to work within the baling operation.
11. Compile with theft and loss prevention policies of Goodwill Industries of El Paso Inc., reporting all suspicious activities to Warehouse Manager and/or Vice President of Operations.
12. Must attend regularly scheduled store meetings and training.
13. Must dress appropriately for work area. Keep a neat and clean appearance.
14. Must have a valid Driver License and auto insurance required.
15. Must have access to reliable transportation.
16. Must comply with all Safety Rules and Regulations.
17. Must perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. Retail Experience preferred.
3. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
4. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisors and team members to promote a positive teamwork culture.
5. Must be able to collaborate with people who have disabilities and diverse backgrounds.
6. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, on short notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasionally more than 40 hours per week.
7. Must be able to perform in a hectic work environment.
8. Must have working knowledge of men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes.
9. Must have working knowledge of hard lines and soft lines.
10. Must be able to travel when required to other Goodwill Industries Inc. within West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
