SUMMARY:
The Groundskeeper/Maintenance is responsible for maintaining grounds and building maintenance work. Work involves maintaining the appearance of grounds and gardens and maintaining and caring for ground-keeping tools, supplies, and equipment. Entry level position and works under close supervision with minimal latitude.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains the appearance of grounds and gardens on assigned property.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintaining client location grounds and surrounding perimeter in a clean, well-groomed manner.
- Responsible for maintaining tools, supplies and equipment in working order.
- Demonstrates excellent work habits, maintaining a good attitude.
- Ensure all safety rules are adhered to.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc. and persons receiving services.
- Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the building property.
- Responsible for maintaining the required company uniform and ensuring a professional
- appearance, and attitude at all times.
- Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to understand English/Spanish
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. and be able to stand for extended periods at a time; bend, reach and stretch repeatedly.
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in the outdoor environment (heat, cold, adverse weather conditions)
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance, able to drive to other locations when necessary.
- Must conduct themselves within the GIEP ethics policy.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers and people receiving services.
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
