Example Duties and Activities
- Provide coaching, assistance, and supervision to residents to support daily living skills, household tasks, and personal development.
- Assist in evaluating resident needs and implementing Individual Program Plan goals, offering encouragement and accountability.
- Document resident activities, progress, and facility updates accurately and according to established documentation standards.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with residents, coworkers, and partners verbally, in writing, and electronically.
- Support a safe and secure living environment by following all organizational and program policies, identifying concerns, and taking corrective action when needed.
- Monitor resident and visitor activity to ensure appropriate building use and uphold community agreements.
- Provide behavior support or interventions as directed by the Housing management staff.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks, assist with meal preparation, and complete basic maintenance needs to ensure a clean and supportive residential environment.
- Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support resident success and the mission of Goodwill.

- Industry Expertise - Has experience supporting individuals in a residential, social services, behavioral health, or community-based setting. Has assisted people in developing or maintaining daily living skills, accessing resources, and working toward goals that promote stability, independence, and personal well-being.
- Communication Skills - Articulates thoughts and expresses ideas effectively using oral, written, visual, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as listening skills to comprehend customers’ needs. Delivers information in person, in writing, and in a digital world.
- Technical Knowledge - Has working knowledge of G Suite and MS Office. Prior Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) knowledge is an additional plus.
- Client Engagement - Takes a strengths-based, client-centered approach to developing relationships at all levels while establishing appropriate boundaries. Adept at delivering feedback that is constructive and unbiased. Creates and maintains a safe environment for open discussions.
- Autonomy - Takes initiative without waiting to be directed, does what is asked, and works until the job is completed. Takes ownership of mistakes and learns from them rather than makes excuses.
- Information Monitoring - Collects and reviews information to manage or improve processes and/or activities.
- Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours.
- Background Screening - All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver’s license, up-to-date auto insurance, and a good driving record.
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification may be required. The training will be offered by Goodwill.
