What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator- Youth Services (part-time) position at Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois?
This is a part-time M-F position, working 2 PM to 6 PM at the Harold B Dawson Middle School (address is 2708 W Rohmann Ave, West Peoria, IL 61604). This position will average 25 hours per week, and the pay is $20.60/hr.
Teen REACH (Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring, and Hope) is a comprehensive youth development initiative that provides after-school program services to high-risk youth between the ages of 6 and 17. The Program Coordinator plays a key role in providing a safe after-school environment with caring adult role models that will work with youth to increase academic achievement and develop the life skills necessary for future success as well as ensuring program requirements and outcomes are met. The Coordinator provides oversight and support to program participants, including program volunteers. Responsibilities include participant recruitment and engagement, data tracking and reporting, coordinating and facilitating program activities and events, monitoring participant progress, and serving as a community representative for Goodwill.
Example Duties and Activities
- Coordinate assigned programs and maintain in-depth knowledge of program operations to achieve program goals, measures, and outcomes.
- Provide oversight and support to program participants and volunteers, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
- Conduct program participant and volunteer screenings, orientations, and trainings as necessary.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of program participants and volunteers, ensuring the confidentiality of all information. Facilitate engaging activities, workshops, and events such as field trips, service learning, job shadowing, and career exploration opportunities.
- Develop and implement curriculum to enhance program services and participant development.
- Report on program goals, outcomes, and participant progress; promptly communicate any unusual or crisis situations.
- Represent Goodwill Industries in the community through outreach, partnership development, and networking activities to grow and market programs.
- Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with community partners, service providers, and collaborating agencies.
- Stay informed of community resources to make appropriate referrals for program participants.
- Collect, enter, and track data accurately and in a timely manner to meet program reporting and grant requirements.
- Participate in Goodwill meetings, trainings, webinars, and conferences as needed.
- Ensure the safety of participants, staff, and others by following all organizational and programmatic policies and procedures.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

- Background Screening - All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check. Must have a valid driver’s license, up-to-date auto insurance, and a good driving record.
