Job Coach (New Orleans, LA)

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities: To review each assigned participant’s assessment and Individualized Program Plan, (IPP), and facilitate their securing and maintaining of employment. To document participant performance and provide feedback to funding sources and other interested parties with a right to know. To develop job placement sites in the community. This is a field-based position that requires reliable transportation to travel regularly to participant work sites and employer locations

• To assess each program participant’s potential to perform a job by conducting a job analysis, task analysis and job site modification needs.

• To develop an Individual Program Plan, in conjunction with the program participant, which identifies strengths and weaknesses, sets realistic, obtainable, quantifiable goals, and reviews the participant’s progress on a consistent basis.

• To provide on-the-job training support, identify natural supports in the workplace and to utilize behavioral training techniques.

• To act as an intermediary and advocate for program participants at the work site and at work-related functions.

• To access and provide on-going feedback on participant progress to all concerned parties through conversations, monthly reports, and chronological logs.

• To implement a systematic method of instructional fading and to provide on-going follow-up services.

• To complete accurately and timely all required monthly paperwork.

• To report on a daily basis to the Job Coach supervisor on the work schedule of assigned program participants.

• To adhere to work site rules and regulations regarding company policies, dress, parking, lunch and breaks, etc.

• To assist in the recruitment and placement of program participants.

• Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and among, all personnel.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information.
• Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.
• Must be able to work long or extended hours, including nights and weekends.

Requirements:

1. High School diploma or equivalent required, degree in Social Service field preferred.

2. Experience working with individuals with disabilities.

3. Must pass criminal background check.

4. Must be able to clear DMV check.

5. Must provide own transportation.

6. Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain current vehicle registration, liability insurance and vehicle inspection.

Physical/Mental Demands:

Must be able to tolerate frequent periods of high stress, heavy workload, and multiple priorities. Must be ambulatory. Must be able to see, hear, speak, and otherwise communicate effectively with participants, employees, and staff. Must be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and possess depth perception.
