We’re partnering with the Office of the Attorney General through Goodwill Temporary Services to bring on a Temporary Assistant Attorney General II supporting the Child Support Division. This is a great opportunity for attorneys looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience in family law and state-level legal proceedings.
What You’ll Do:
- Represent the State of Texas in child support and medical support cases
- Assist in locating, establishing, enforcing, modifying, and terminating court orders
- Participate in judicial and administrative hearings
- Provide legal guidance and support to program staff
- Conduct legal research, investigations, and draft legal opinions
- Support trial attorneys and contribute to case strategy
- Assist with training and knowledge sharing within the team
What We’re Looking For:
- Preferably 1 year of experience handling Family Law cases in Texas
- Experience managing a high-volume caseload
- Strong skills in legal writing, negotiation, and mediation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in the State of Texas
Work Environment:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs
