The Mail and Supplies Specialist is responsible for understanding and abides by policies, procedures, and programs. 

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Understand and abides by policies, procedures, and programs. Typically works on projects and tasks that span 1 day – 3 months. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Maintain professional procurement practices and services according to the procedures of Milwaukee County 

2. Maintain proper levels of inventory, prepare, and submit supply orders, and receive orders.  

3. Monitor, verify, and track deliveries, packing slips, and invoices. 

4. Contact Milwaukee Division of Purchasing for price/quote estimates. 

5. Contact vendors for office equipment repair/maintenance and problem resolution. 

6. Collect data and prepare reports as assigned. 

7. Maintain standards of confidentiality. 

8. Maintain a safe and professional work environment. 

9. Effectively plan and manage own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. Follow through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.  

10. Problem Solving: General supervision, with work regularly reviewed by manager or senior coworker. Use technical skills and knowledge to manage day-to-day tasks. 

11. Technical Skill: Practical, working knowledge of tasks, responsibilities, policies, and procedures. Able to learn and apply new concepts. 

12. Community Engagement: serve as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.  Participate in volunteer opportunities as schedule and interest permit. 

13. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Job Duties Specific to Milwaukee County:

1. Assist in coordinating day-to-day operations and training/development programs of Central Services as directed. 

2. Assist with conference room scheduling and event planning.

3. Accept mail and packages; sort and redistribute as required.

4. Operate electronic mail metering machine.

5. Check supplies at copy stations located throughout the building and replenish as needed. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma or GED minimum.

2. Procurement experience preferred. 

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. Moves about to accomplish tasks. Raises objects from lower to higher position or moves objects horizontally. Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: positions self to retrieve objects. Reach: extending upwards or downwards to retrieve objects. Vision required for computer entry and sorting mail.

When determining placement within the salary range for this position Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands and other qualifying criteria. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the rage for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on facts and circumstances of each case.

Certain roles are eligible to participate in an incentive plan. Participation in this plan does not guarantee an incentive payment and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan, which are subject to change.
