Summary/Objective

The Custodian has the primary responsibility of cleaning the facilities in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection. It is the role of the Custodian to follow daily, weekly and monthly schedules at the Goodwill Administrative Office as per the required cleaning checklist/schedule. The Custodian is required to have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.

Essential Functions

· Use the Custodian checklist to complete all custodial tasks, and provide completed checklist to the department supervisor at the end of each week.

Daily Checklist:

· Upon arrival, sweep outside front awning area and clean front doors, including the glass and door handles.

· Clean restrooms (including sink area, toilets, floors, door handles) and empty trash bins/replace liners. Restock paper and soap products. Spray with air freshener.

· Empty trash cans and replace liners.

· Mop common area floors, including reception area, career center, hallways, and kitchen.

· Clean all office and common area doorknobs with disinfectant on a daily basis.

· Clean the admin office kitchen area, and replenish coffee/sugar stock when needed.

This is a State Set Aside Contract, which requires that employees have a qualifying disabling condition. Examples of disabilities could include: arthritis, asthma, orthopedic disorders, blindness or other visual impairments, lupus, cosmetic disfigurements, HIV/AIDS, Epilepsy, Hepatitis, lung disease, diabetes, head injuries, cancer, substance abuse, heart conditions, mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, visual or hearing impairments, physical disabilities, and a variety of other disabilities. Must be able to provide documentation from a third party such as a doctor that you have a disability that affects your daily life.

This is a position to start ASAP. Employees will be employed by and paid by Goodwill of Central East Texas Inc. This position is not hired by the state's office but rather, through Goodwill. Position is through a state set-aside contract aimed at helping people with disabling conditions find employment.
