Position Summary:
Due to our increasing strategic growth internationally, we are seeking an experienced Senior International Sales Manager to lead our international sales efforts and drive growth in strategic export markets. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong expertise in international sales, account management, business development, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering results in industrial tools or HVAC systems sales, be fluent in English and either French or Spanish and bring the ability to navigate complex cross-border sales and business development to distributors and end-users alike.

This role involves managing a team of 3-4 direct reports, forecasting sales, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure seamless operations. The Senior International Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of International Sales to develop regional strategies, execute tactical plans, and engage directly with key end-user customers and distributors, primarily in the HVAC, manufacturing, and energy markets, with peripheral support to the food & beverage markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement a multi-year international sales strategy aligned with company objectives, targeting sustainable growth in key markets.
  • Market Engagement: Identify and capitalize on regional market opportunities, developing a network of distributors and key end-user accounts.
  • Account Management: Build and nurture relationships with end-users, distributors, and multinational customers, serving as a trusted advisor for their industrial maintenance needs.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and mentor a team of 3-4 sales professionals, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Sales Forecasting: Utilize Salesforce and other tools to provide accurate sales projections and insights.
  • Order Fulfillment: Oversee order processing, international shipping logistics, and customer communication to ensure operational excellence.
  • Customer Solutions: Partner with Engineering and Marketing teams to customize solutions, address customer challenges, and inform new product development.
  • Travel: Plan and execute international business trips (no more than 15% travel) to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: We are seeking a seasoned sales professional with proven experience in businesses that produce and sell complex products, such as industrial machinery, business electronics, industrial tools, or medical equipment. The ideal candidate understands the unique dynamics of these industries, including technical product knowledge, B2B sales cycles, and building strong customer relationships in highly specialized markets. Minimum of 7 years in international sales, with demonstrated success in account management and business development; experience in industrial tools or HVAC markets is a strong plus.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and either French or Spanish is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, ERP systems (e.g., Epicor), and standard office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Operational Expertise: Knowledge of international sales, shipping, documentation, and compliance processes.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across cultures and geographies.
  • Problem-solving: Creative thinker capable of identifying customer solutions and driving product innovation.
