Resident Care Specialist (Weekends Only)

In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, person-centered, trauma-informed support to youth in state custody, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity. This position requires verifiable experience working directly with children or adolescents. Applicants who do not have prior experience working with children will not be considered. Applications that do not demonstrate relevant child care or youth services experience will be automatically rejected.

Duties

• Deliver personalized care and support to residents, promoting independence and quality of life.
• Monitor resident safety through regular visual checks, manual handling, and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Support residents with daily activities, including hygiene, mobility, and behavioral health needs.
• Document all interactions accurately, including incident reports and progress notes.

Skills

• Proven supervising experience in caregiving or behavioral health settings.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention, conflict management, and de-escalation techniques.
• Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or from underserved communities.
• Certified in first aid and CPR; manual handling skills required for resident safety.
• Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations and high-risk groups such as youth or homeless individuals.
• Skilled in behavioral health support, social work principles, and home & community care practices.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certified (required)

Pay: $18.00 per hour
