Position Summary:
We are seeking a Working Foreman with strong commercial construction and custom fabrication experience to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day field operations, coordinate small commercial projects, and contribute directly to high-quality metalwork, custom carpentry, and architectural fabrication projects.
This role requires a motivated professional who can balance crew management, project coordination, and hands-on craftsmanship while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a crew of 4-5 skilled employees in both field construction and custom fabrication settings.
- Oversee commercial tenant improvements, small ground-up construction, and custom fabrication projects.
- Perform hands-on work, including metal fabrication, custom carpentry, and installation of architectural elements.
- Prepare cost estimates, material takeoffs, and proposals.
- Coordinate project schedules and manage subcontractors and vendors.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including design, property management, and construction management.
- Review plans and specifications; communicate clearly with design teams and project stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe and organized job site, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Track employee time, materials, and project progress.
- Troubleshoot field challenges and develop creative, efficient solutions.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction or custom fabrication, including management or supervisory experience.
- Proven background in metalwork, custom carpentry, or architectural fabrication.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, scheduling, and coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and shop plans.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Safety-conscious mindset with a working knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience with estimating, project management software, and basic computer skills preferred.
