Part-Time / As-Needed Mechanic – West Knoxville/Lenoir City
Small independent car dealer looking for an experienced, dependable mechanic to help with vehicles I buy, repair, and resell.
Pay: $25-40/hour — actual hours worked, not book time. Paid daily.
This is part-time/as-needed work, not a guaranteed-hours position. Some weeks may only be a couple of hours; other weeks could be 20–35 hours depending on what I have in the shop. Could be a good fit for a retired mechanic, someone with another job looking for extra work, or an experienced tech wanting flexible side work.
Looking for someone comfortable handling a wide variety of repairs — anything from basic electrical/fuse issues and maintenance to brakes, suspension, diagnostics, engine work, and engine removal/replacement.
Shop is an older 3-bay shop with 2 lifts near Watt Road and Kingston Pike in West Knoxville.
What I'm looking for:
- Experienced and able to work independently
- Dependable and shows up when we agree on a time
- Comfortable diagnosing and repairing a variety of makes/models
- Safe and professional while working
- No book-time pressure — you're paid for the hours you actually work
