- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to enhance their overall health
- Assist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort for both the patient and the dentist
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical history using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to uphold safety standards in the dental office
Requirements
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state licensure
- Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings
- Proficiency with dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and medical imaging procedures
- Skilled in chairside assisting, patient care, patient assessment, and medical coding for billing purposes
- Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about oral health practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
