Role Description
This could be full employment or via an of-counsel relationship. It may be one or more roles (there is presently one of-counsel). It would be remote, but also okay if someone wants to work in-person together in DC.
Presently, there is a significant excess of client work involving debt finance, restructurings, asset backed securities, litigation, fund compliance and mergers and acquisitions. The work involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, providing business-focused strategic guidance on transactional and litigation matters, supervising Big Law counsel, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards. Additional responsibilities include conducting legal research, managing due diligence processes, and collaborating with clients to anticipate and resolve legal challenges efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in corporate law areas such as contracts, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
- Business-focused mindset.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills to provide well-grounded advice and solutions.
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills for contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster client relationships and present complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of residence/work.
- 5 years in Am Law 100 firms working on corporate transactions.
- Minimum of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
