JV Volleyball Coach

Summary
Gooding High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes while promoting teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and a desire to mentor young athletes in their personal and athletic growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
• Organize and lead the Junior Varsity volleyball team during games and competitions, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations.
• Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs and skill levels of the student-athletes.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of players, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship among players.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to align training and competition strategies.
• Attend all team meetings, practices, and games, maintaining a visible and supportive presence for the athletes.
• Assist in the recruitment and retention of athletes for the volleyball program.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent experience in volleyball.
• Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, school staff, and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season).
• Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and team events.
• A passion for youth sports and a commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the court.
• Must pass a background check as required by Gooding High School and relevant governing bodies.
