Primary Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner to gather all the information necessary to create an accurate estimate.
- Consult and sell services that are applicable to the type of boat and customer’s needs.
- Provide customers with a schedule of work, updates, and any changes that may occur.
- Coordinate with customers on transportation of their boat.
- Communicate with technicians to inform customers of the best remedies to properly repair their vessel.
- Locate, order, and input parts for customer units based on technicians' notes and diagnosis.
- Finalize and invoice work orders.
- Ensure each customer has a positive service experience.
- Spend quality time building a relationship with the customer.
- Follow up after work is complete.
- Work with vendors to process Warranty claims.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 2 years marine service writer experience, preferred
- Excellent customer service and phone skills are a must.
- Must have superior selling skills and knowledge of how to cross-sell products and services.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem solving skills.
- Marine parts and services knowledge is a must.
- Experience with Lightspeed EVO, preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to work in an active, fast-paced service environment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Valid Driver’s License, required.
- Boater’s License, preferred.
- Monday-Friday Weekends (5 days per week)
- Monday-Friday schedule during off-peak season
- Flexible scheduling
- $55,000-$65,000 annually: Base Commission and Bonuses.
