What are the responsibilities and job description for the REGISTERED NURSE - LABOR/DELIVERY position at Goodall-Witcher Healthcare?
Has responsibility for total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned patients. Monitors patient throughout labor, assists in delivery and care of newborn. Plans, provides, and documents discharge planning, teaching and education of patients, family or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN license with the State of Texas. One year of recent L&D Postpartum/nursery preferred. Current CPR certification, Fetal Monitoring course; ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to stand and/or walk for moderate periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting may be required in the event a patient becomes weak or helpless.
