Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Accurately process cash, credit, debit, and mobile payments while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Provide product demos when applicable to enhance customer understanding and encourage upselling opportunities.
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, restocking supplies and ensuring merchandise is properly displayed for easy access.
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
- Assist customers with inquiries over the phone using professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills.
- Promote store promotions and upsell additional products to maximize sales opportunities.
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service with strong communication skills.
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in managing team members during busy periods or assisting with product demos.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising techniques, and stock management will be advantageous.
