What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Wedding Advisor position at Good Wedding Days?
At Good Wedding Days (GWD), we're on a mission to help couples through one of life's most memorable events by providing advice, planning and coordination. Whether it's an hour of advice or planning the whole thing, we do the work that leaves couples with nothing but good wedding days.
We're building a dedicated home for trusted wedding advisors across Texas.
Around 2 million couples get married in the U.S. each year, and only about 1 in 4 works with a professional. We're building the part that was missing, and we're looking for the advisors who'll deliver it.
Becoming an Independent Wedding Advisor
A wedding advisor is a wedding and events professional who works with couples for as much or as little as they need.
You might spend an hour with one couple working out what's left of their budget after the venue they've fallen for. Source and compare florists for another. Run the entire day for a third, from the first idea to the last song.
Same expertise, sold in whatever size the couple actually needs. You choose which services you offer and we bring you the couples.
Advice
- Discovery calls with newly engaged couples
- Hour-long sessions on anything: budget, timing, guests, where to start
- Budget builds, mapped against what things really cost in Texas
- Vendor sourcing, quotes chased and compared side by side
- Venue shortlists
Planning
- Partial planning, taking on the parts they don't want
- Full planning, from first idea to last song
- Design and styling - as its own engagement or alongside planning
- A planner on call through the whole engagement
Coordination
- Month-of coordination, from around six weeks out through to the day
- Timelines built and vendor communications handled in the weeks before
- Run sheets, written and delivered into every supplier's hands
- Rehearsal and day-of management
- Multi-day and wedding weekend management
Your experience matters
But so does your passion for weddings.
This is an opportunity that suits people from various backgrounds. Planners and coordinators with years behind them, and those working behind-the-scenes who are ready to build something of their own. Events and hospitality managers who've spent years running rooms full of people to a schedule that couldn't slip. Venue and catering managers who know the Texas wedding scene from the inside. People who've coordinated weddings for those they love and been told, more than once, that they should be doing this properly.
What we care about is whether you've carried something where the timing mattered and people were relying on you, and you delivered.
How we support you
A brand behind you. Couples come to GWD, tell us what they're planning, and we match them with you.
Your own advisor page, under the GWD brand, to share wherever you like. Your network, your Instagram, the venues you've worked with for years. We'll help you build your own reach, and you'll earn more on the couples who come through it.
Training and coaching from industry veterans. Pricing, scoping, difficult conversations, and the parts of running a business nobody teaches you.
The software and systems to launch and grow. Your couples, calendar, run sheets and vendor lists in one place. Contracts, payments, invoicing and payouts handled.
There's nothing to pay, nothing to buy, and no membership. We only earn when you do, and you keep the majority of every job you deliver. You'd be running your own business. We're the brand and the infrastructure behind it.
If you've thought about going out on your own but stalled on everything that isn't the wedding, this is that, without the part that stops people.
What you'll need
- 21 years or older
- Experience running weddings or events, in a role where the outcome was on you
- Vehicle and a valid driver's license
- Based in Texas
- Your own laptop and phone
- The temperament to be the calmest person in the room when something goes wrong
