As a Bud Tender, you will be the friendly, knowledgeable face of our retail cannabis store, guiding customers through their purchasing journey with enthusiasm and expertise. You will assist with product selection, provide educational insights, and ensure a smooth shopping experience from start to finish. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and determine their needs to recommend suitable products
- Educate customers on different strains, consumption methods, and product effects through engaging product demos
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions efficiently and accurately, including cash handling and sales processing
- Maintain well-stocked and visually appealing displays through merchandising and stocking activities
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts and product organization
- Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations regarding cannabis sales, including age verification and documentation
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions via phone or in person using professional phone etiquette
- Supervise or assist in supervising fellow team members to ensure smooth store operations
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations
- Supervising experience in retail or similar environments is highly desirable
- Ability to conduct engaging product demos that educate and excite customers
- Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse communities effectively
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey product information and store policies
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally
- Skilled in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math principles for inventory control
- Prior retail sales experience in a grocery store or similar setting preferred
- Basic math skills for cash handling, transactions, and inventory calculations
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to build rapport quickly
